Tap-Tober 5K Beer Run & Walk
A charity fundraiser, UNIQUE and FUN also serves as a "kick-start" to the San Antonio Beer Festival. Founders Kevin & Melissa Johnson (also owners of Brewery Direct) created this event to benefit Project Angel Fares, a unique program that provides families with special needs an opportunity to visit San Antonio and Morgan's Wonderland that would otherwise not see possible. Project Angel Fares pays for all travel expenses.
The AMAZING part is that since 2014 Tap-Tober Beer Run & Walk has raised over $29,000 to help provide "trips of a lifetime" benefiting the special needs community.
Tap-Tober 5K Beer Run & Walk partners with the best craft breweries that Texas has to offer. This timed race course starts and ends at Maverick Park. Running across the Hays Bridge is where you will incur the first "swig station", an opportunity to sample a tasty beer. There are a total of 6 "swig stations" along the route. Not your style? At the finish line a cold one awaits you.
Only the top 300 finishers receive a Commemorative Bottle Opener Medal. This race is festive with music, awards, snacks, race shirt and more.
Tap-Tober 5K Beer Run & Walk is not your norm. We encourage dress up, JUST BECAUSE it's MORE FUN!
